Energy Square is a large office tower located at 10109 106 Street NW, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1980, and the fire alarm system was most recently upgraded in 2022; some devices remain from previous systems.

System Specifications (2022-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NOTI-FIRE-NET networked fire alarm system. All nodes are Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm panels; the main node is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.

Booster Panels[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FCPS-24S6C booster power supplies in the electrical rooms on every third floor.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are System Sensor “L-Series” SPSCWLA speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
There is a System Sensor SPSWLA speaker/strobe (white, wall-mount, set to 70V/15cd) in the weight room.
There is a System Sensor SWLA remote strobe (white, wall-mount, set to 15cd) paired with a System Sensor SPWLA remote speaker (white, wall-mount, set to 70V) near the front desk.
Some floors have Arnscott ASAL81G11W remote speakers paired with System Sensor “SpectrAlert” S2415A remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd).

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Notifier MPS-950KB addressable two-stage single-action pull stations, wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules (2 per station).

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the main floor, mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Notifier FRM-1A addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Notifier FTM-1A addressable fire phone modules supervising all fire phones.
There are Notifier ISO-XA isolator modules on all SLCs.
