The Markin MacPhail Centre (aka WinSport Arena) is a 500,000 sq ft multi-purpose facility located in the WinSport complex, at 151 Canada Olympic Rd SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It houses three NHL-sized arenas, and is often used for graduations. It started in 2011 as the WinSport Arenas, and was completed in 2014 as the Markin MacPhail Centre. The fire alarm system remains original except for the panel.

System Specifications

FACP

The facility is protected by a Siemens Cerberus PRO Modular addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the CACF room near the main entrance. The system runs Siemens’ FirePrint addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time. This system is believed to be networked to the Frank King Day Lodge.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Siemens SE-MC-W-B speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 70V/15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Siemens HMS-2S addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Siemens HFP-11 multisensor heat/smoke combo detectors located throughout. There is also a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

Modules

There are Siemens XTRI-D addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.

There are Siemens XTRI-R addressable relay modules serving various purposes.

EOLs

There are Siemens EL-300C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
