NESS: Don Hartman North East Sportsplex is a sports facility located at 5206 68 Street Northeast, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It houses two 150-seat, NHL-sized arenas, as well as a large gymnasium. The building was built in 1995, and the fire alarm system was partially upgraded in 2022; most notification appliances remain original.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. This panel is equipped with the Simplex ES touchscreen interface. The system runs Simplex's IDNet addressable protocol, but the coding of the system is unknown.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G10-24 motor bell/strobes (10" gong, 1.5 candela). The dressing room hallway has a Simplex 2901-9724 motor bell (10" gong) and a Potter MBA-10-24 motor bell (10" gong) on the original strobe plates as deficiency replacements. The second floor corridor has a Potter MBA-6-24 motor bell (6" gong) mounted on a Wheelock RSSP-24MCW strobe plate (set to 15cd) as a deficiency replacement.

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex "TrueAlarm" 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler's tamper and flow switches.

There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules serving various purposes.

There are Simplex 4090-9116 addressable isolator modules on the SLC.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are a mix of Notifier EOL-CR and Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
