Queensland Downs School is a former elementary school located at 199 Queen Charlotte Way SE, Calgary, AB. It was built in 1976, and was decommissioned in 2009. It currently houses Horizon Academy Institute.

FACP

The building is protected by a 120V hardwired fire alarm system, therefore there is no panel. Since this is a hardwired system, the system does continuous.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Simplex 4090-2 vibrating bells. The hallways, cafeteria and office has 6" gongs, and the gym has 10" gongs.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Simplex 4251-20 conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Dicon 300BX ionization smoke alarms in the hallways, which were installed in the late 1990s. They are wired into the system, and trip the bells when activated.

Bonus Information

The school bell system in this school is also made by Simplex, it's a Simplex 6400.
