1011 9 Ave SE is a commercial building in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building is mixed-use, housing the Atlantic Avenue Art Block, Lina’s Supermercato, and several office spaces. The building opened in 2011, and the fire alarm system is original, with a panel replacement occuring in 2024.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule, and is equipped with the Color ES touchscreen interface. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
The 4100ES replaced a Simplex 4100U in 2024.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
Some office spaces have Simplex 4906-9128 horn/strobes (red, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a Simplex 4906-9105 weatherproof remote strobe outside the main entrance.

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9001 addressable single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, as well as Simplex 4098-9733 addressable fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some areas. All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
