The building was built in 1914, and was repurposes in the late 1960s. A major electrical upgrade took place in 1995, which included a new fire alarm system; replacement parts have been installed as deficiencies occur.

There are Wheelock RSS-2415W remote strobes (red, wall-mount, 15cd) in the boutique washrooms.
