Army & Navy was a chain of department stores in Alberta and British Columbia. This particular store was located at 1107 33 St NE, Calgary, AB. The store opened in 1980, closed in 2020 and currently is vacant. The fire alarm system is mostly original, with partial upgrades in 1998 and around 2011.

FACP

The building is protected by a GE FireShield Plus FSP1004G conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards “Durabel” 6100D vibrating bells (6” gong).
There are some Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bells (6” gong) on the first floor in addition to the above bells, installed in 1998.
There is a Potter MBA-6-24 motor bell (6” gong) in the second floor stockroom as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations. Most of these are original, and some were installed in the 1998 upgrade.

Automatic Detection Devices

The only detector is an Edwards 245A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector in the storage closet on the first floor.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
