The Aventa Centre of Excellence is a women's recovery centre located at 610 25 Ave SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1965, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 1997, with FACP and notification appliance replacements occurring in 2023.

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST4 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the boiler room. The system is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal coding is 20BPM, and the alarm signal coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There is an Edwards EST4-4ANN annunciator at the main entrance.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards "Genesis" G1AVRF horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking, set to 15cd).
Some areas have Edwards G1VRF remote strobes (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking, set to 15cd) for additional visual coverage.
All devices are mounted on Edwards G1TR trim plates.

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Edwards 270-GAO conventional two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Edwards EDW2151A conventional photoelectric smoke detectors in all patient rooms, throughout all corridors, and at the top of each stairwell.
Some areas have System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors as deficiency replacements.
There are a mix of the following heat detectors in all kitchens, storage rooms and laundry rooms: FDD CF-200, System Sensor 5601A, Edwards 281C, Edwards 281B-PL.
Additionally, there are System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some rooms.
There are Mirtone TD-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in the boiler room.

Modules

There are Edwards "SignalMaster" G1M-RM modules for converting all horn/strobes to 4-wire operation.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all circuits.
