Big Marble Go Centre is a recreation centre located at 2000 Division Ave N, Medicine Hat, Alberta. The building houses the Cenovus Arena, wave pool, and many other activities. The building opened in 2000 as the Family Leisure Centre, and was expanded to become the current facility in 2016. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2017, most notification appliances are original.

System Specifications (2017-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3X addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal coding is 20BPM, followed by temporal in general alarm.
The EST3X replaced the original EST ESA2000 in 2017.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances in the original part are General Signal MB10-24 motor bells (10” gong) mounted on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd).
The expansion has Edwards MB10-24 motor bells on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd), these bells can also be found as deficiency replacements in the original part.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA2-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in each elevator lobby, mounted to EST SIGA-SB bases.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules for elevator recall and HVAC shutdown.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
