Bob Bahan Aquatic & Fitness Centre is a swimming pool & fitness centre located at 4812 14 Ave SE, Calgary, AB. It is owned and operated by the City of Calgary. The facility was built in 1970, and underwent a major renovation between 1999 and 2000. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2000 and 2006, and was fully replaced in 2024.
Some devices were salvaged from the 2007-2024 system, and are in the Fire Alarmpedia collection.
System Specifications (2024-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Notifier's FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" P2RKA weatherproof horn/strobes (red, wall-mount), likely chosen due to the ambient humidity in the building.
Some areas have System Sensor SRKA weatherproof remote strobes (red, wall-mount); there is also one unit outside the main entrance.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Notifier FST-951RA addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the building.
There are Notifier FST-951HA addressable 190°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in areas with high ambient temperatures.
There are Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.
Modules
There are Notifier FRM-1A addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Notifier ISO-XA isolator modules on the SLC.
EOLs
There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.
