Boston Pizza is Canada's largest casual restaurant chain. This particular restaurant is located at 235 Shawville Blvd SE, in the Shawnessy shopping area of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The restaurant was built in 1996, and the fire alarm system is partially original.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by a Mircom FA-106 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous. This panel was installed on June 5th, 2020 replacing a Notifier SFP-400B.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances are Wheelock MBS-G6-24 motor bell/strobes (6" gong).

Three of the four units have replacement bells: The bar loft and kitchen area units are retrofitted with Simplex 2901-9723 motor bells (6" gong), and the main level bar area unit is retrofitted with a Notifier KMS-6-24A motor bell (6" gong).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations.

The kitchen exit has a Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull station (side-reset variant), original to the building installed due to stock issues.

Some areas have Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations (front-reset) as deficiency replacements.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in the kitchen and liquor storage room.

The following heat detectors are present on the system:

  • FDD CF-135 135°F fixed-temperature in all electrical and janitor rooms
  • System Sensor 5604A 194°F fixed-temperature in one kitchen area
  • Edwards 245A 135°F fixed-temperature in liquor storage
  • Potter CR-135W 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise in kitchen storage
  • FDD CR-135 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise in bar loft

There is a System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detector at the top of the staff stairwell.

EOLs

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all circuits.
