Braeside Centre is a strip mall located at 1919 Southland Dr SW, Calgary, AB. It consists of 7 Eleven, Dairy Queen, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sun Nails, Flower Chix, Southland Dental, Liquor Port, Edward Jones, Little Caesars, Dahms Chiropractic, My Chicken & Meat, and Second Cup. The building was built in 1970, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2024.

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule of unit #1919C. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All indoor notification appliances are System Sensor “L-Series” P2RLED-B horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
For exterior notification, there is a System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” P2RKA weatherproof horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 75cd) outside 1919C entrance.

The building was protected by a Mircom Series FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel was located in the main entrance vestibule of 1919C. The system coding was temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most audible notification appliances were Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bells (6” gong). Some were mounted remotely and most were on Wheelock RSSP-2415W strobe plates (15cd).
There was one Edwards MB6-24 motor bell (6” gong) mounted on an Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plate (15cd) as a deficiency replacement.
For exterior notification, there was a Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bell outside the 1919C entrance.
