Canadian National is a Canadian railway headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. This page will cover the Bissell Yard's Office & Training Building, which is the only building in the yard with a fire alarm system. The yard is located at 15708 Yellowhead Trail NW, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1999, and the fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST1-1Z1 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous.

Notification Appliances

There are two notification appliances present, both mounted on Edwards 403-5A-R strobe plates (15cd): a General Signal MB10-24 motor bell (10" gong) in the main area, and a Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10" gong) in the training room.

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are Edwards 281C conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in most areas.
There are Edwards 283C conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in the laundry and server rooms.
There is a System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector in the radio office as a deficiency replacement.
