CPKC is one of North America's largest railways. This page will cover their Global Headquarters, located at 7550 Ogden Dale Road SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1973, and was extensively renovated in 2012. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 2012 renovation.

System Specifications (2012-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. This is a networked system with 2 nodes: Node 1 is located in the main electrical room, and Node 2 is located in the control centre. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert coding is 20BPM, and the alarm coding is temporal.

Annunciators

There are Edwards EST3-3ANN annunciators at the main entrance and behind the security desk.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards "Genesis" G1R-HD remote horns (red, wall-mount, no marking).
All washrooms and most areas of the control centre have Edwards G1R-VM remote strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are EST SIGA2-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in all elevator lobbies and machine rooms, at the top of each stairwell, and at the top of each elevator shaft.
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors mixed in the aforementioned areas.
All aforementioned detectors are mounted on EST SIGA-SB bases.
There are EST "SuperDuct" SIGA-SD addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors on all air handling units.

Modules

There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the kitchen suppression system, and the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are EST SIGA-IM addressable isolator modules on all SLCs.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on the kitchen suppression circuit, and on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
