CPKC is a railway headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. This page will cover Building 10 of the Ogden Campus, which houses various offices, and is located at 7550 Ogden Dale Road SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building was built in 1914, and was expanded and renovated in 2014. The fire alarm system was partially upgraded as part of the 2014 renovation; the FACP was replaced in 2023.

System Specifications (2014-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards iO1000 hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced an EST QuickStart QS4.

Booster Panels

There is an Edwards BPS6AC 6-amp booster power supply below the main FACP, supervised and triggered by NAC 4.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards "Genesis" G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).
Some areas have Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6" gong).

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.
Some areas have Edwards 270-SPOB conventional single-action pull stations with bilingual lettering.
The first floor office area has EST SIGA-270 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell.
There are Edwards 281A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout the third floor.
There is an EST SIGA2-HRS addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector in the main electrical room, mounted on an EST SIGA-SB base.

Modules

There is an Edwards RZI16-2 zone card inside the main FACP supervising all conventional zones.
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
There are EST SIGA-CR addressable relay modules for RTU shutdown.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end of line resistor plates on all conventional, sprinkler and signal circuits.
