The Calgary Zoo is a large zoo in Calgary, Alberta. The zoo is owned by the Calgary Zoological Society.This page will cover the main building of the zoo, which houses the main entry gate, customer service, and the Calgary Zoo CTrain Station. This building also houses the Penguin Plunge exhibit. The building opened in 1985, and received a fire alarm upgrade in 2008.

FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by an EST QuickStart QS4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in an electrical room. The system runs EST’s Signature-series addressable protocol and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is 20BPM, followed by temporal for the alarm signal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are EST “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).
There are also a few EST G1RF-HDVM (red, wall-mount, FIRE marking, set to 15cd) horn/strobes. These are wired to EST “Signal Master” G1M modules to accommodate two-stage operation.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.
Modules[edit | edit source]
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system's tamper and flow switches.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
