The Canada's Best Value Inn Chinook Station is a motel located at 5307 Macleod Trail SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This page will cover the South Building, which is the only building with a fire alarm system. The building was built in 1979, and the fire alarm system is original with deficiency replacements.
System Specifications
The building is protected by a 120VAC hardwired fire alarm system, with bells and initiating devices wired in series-parallel. The system coding is continuous.
Notification Appliances
There are two notification appliances on this system: an Edwards "Durabel" 6000D vibrating bell (6" gong, gray) on one end, and a Wheelock 46T-G6-115-R vibrating bell (6" gong, red) at the other end.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
There are two pull stations on this system: an Edwards CCS-452 conventional single-action pull station on one end, and a Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull station at the other end.
The Mircom pull replaced an Edwards 270-GAO; the GAO is now part of Fire Alarmpedia's collection!
Automatic Detection Devices
There are BRK 9120B ionization smoke alarms throughout all common areas, equipped with SM120X relays; these trip the bells when activated.
