Cedars of Calgary is an apartment complex located at 215 86 Ave SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The complex is owned and operated by Shelter Canadian Properties. This page will cover Building B, which was built in 1977. The fire alarm system is original, with replacement parts installed as deficiencies occur.
System Specifications
FACP
The building is protected by a Mircom FA-1000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the B2 electrical room. The system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced an Edwards 1523.
Annunciators
There is a Mircom RAM-1032TZDS annunciator in the B2 north stairwell, mounted in a Mircom BB-1001 enclosure.
Notification Appliances
All indoor notification appliances are Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (6" gong).
For outdoor notification, there is a Mircom BL-6A motor bell (6" gong) paired with a System Sensor "SpectrAlert Advance" SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount) outside the B2 entrance.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations but one are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.
There is a Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull station in one area as a deficiency replacement.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout all corridors.
There are FDD CF-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in all mechanical and electrical rooms, and in all laundry rooms but one.
There is a Mircom 73330 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector in one laundry room.
There are System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors at the top of each stairwell.

All end of line resistors are located in field devices.
