City Centre Mall is a small mall located at 5201 50 St, Leduc, Alberta. The mall opened in 1976 as Leduc Shopping Plaza, and now mostly consists of clinics and offices. The fire alarm system is mostly original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.
System Specifications[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a 120V hardwired system, therefore there is no panel. However, there are multiple different initiating circuits corresponding to each zone, wired in series. The bells are wired in parallel, which are wired to a relay to sound when any device is activated. The system coding is continuous.
Annunciators[edit | edit source]
There is a custom Edwards lamp annunciator at the North Entrance. It is wired up to show which zone is in alarm; there are no controls.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances are the original Edwards “Durabel” 6000D vibrating bells (10” gong).
There is an Edwards 438D-10N5C vibrating bell (10” gong) in Rexall as a deficiency replacement.
At the north entrance, there is a System Sensor SSV120-10A vibrating bell (10” gong) as a deficiency replacement.
For exterior notification, there is a Pyrotronics BAC-10 vibrating bell (10” gong) near the south entrance.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations but one are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations. These are original in the mall, and the ones in Rexall were installed in the 2000s.
There is an Edwards 275-C111 conventional single-action pull station near the south entrance as a deficiency replacement.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
None noticed. The building is equipped with a sprinkler system.
