The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is a rehabilitation hospital located at 10230 111 Ave NW, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The hospital was built in 1964, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in the mid-2010s.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4120 networked fire alarm system. All nodes are Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm panels; three are located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice evacuation. The system is configured for two-stage operation; the tones are unknown at this time, and it is assumed live “CODE RED” announcements are made in lieu of pre-recorded messages.

There is a Simplex TrueSite workstation in one node in the main entrance vestibule.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

Most notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9153 speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
Some areas have Simplex 4906-9157 speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 70V/15cd).
Some areas have Simplex 2902-9314 remote speakers (white, 8” round), installed in 1997.

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004CA addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout most areas.
There are Simplex 4098-9733 addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors in some areas.
All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Simplex 4090-9116 addressable isolator modules on all SLCs.

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
