Hillside Centre is an indoor shopping mall located at 1644 Hillside Ave, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The mall is anchored by Walmart and Canadian Tire. The mall was built in 1962, and was renovated in 2013. The fire alarm system was upgraded as part of the 2013 renovation.

System Specifications (2013-present)

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. This is a networked system with several nodes; the node locations are unknown at this time. The system runs Edwards' Signature addressable protocol, is equipped with voice evacuation, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is a 20BPM tone, and the alarm signal is a temporal tone. Live announcements are made by mall security in lieu of pre-recorded messages.

Annunciators

There are Edwards EST3-6ANN annunciators equipped with LCDXL1 displays at the Canadian Tire entrance, at one mall entrance, and in the Walmart entrance vestibule.
There are EST RLCD-C annunciators at all other entrances.

Notification Appliances

Mall + Tenants

Most notification appliances are Edwards "Genesis" GC-S7 remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount, no marking, 70V).
There are Edwards GC-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, no marking, 70V, set to 15cd) throughout the facility for visual coverage.
