Holiday Inn Express is a chain of hotels owned by Intercontinental. The chain is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and has locations worldwide. This particular hotel is located at 9 Strachan Bay SE, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. The hotel was built in 2005, and the fire alarm system is mostly original; the FACP was replaced in the 2010s.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by an Edwards iO1000 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Edwards’ Signature addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
This panel was installed in the 2010s, replacing an EST QuickStart QS1.

There is an Edwards RLCD-C annunciator paired with an Edwards RLED24 annunciator in the main entrance vestibule. Both annunciators are mounted in an Edwards RA-ENC2 enclosure.

All common areas have Edwards “Genesis” G1R-HDVM horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, no marking, set to 15cd).

There is an EST SIGA-DH duct detector housing with an EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric head on the main air handling unit.
