Hudson’s Bay was Canada’s longest-running chain of department stores. This particular store was located inside Freiman Mall, at 73 Rideau Street, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The store was built in 1983, and closed in 2025. The fire alarm system was upgraded in the early 2020s.

FACP
The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The alert coding is 20BPM, and the alarm coding is temporal.
This panel replaced a Notifier NFS2-640C, which in turn replaced an Edwards Custom 6500.
Annunciators
There is a Notifier LCD-160 annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Notifier KMS-10-24A motor bells (10” gong).
The original portion and atrium have Edwards “Durabel” 6100D vibrating bells (6” gong).
The atrium has an Ademco AD-10 vibrating bell (10” gong).
Some areas have Edwards MB6-24 motor bells (6” gong) for additional audible coverage.

All pull stations are Notifier N-MPS-2A addressable two-stage single-action pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.
There are Notifier FS-OSI-RA addressable beam detectors in the atrium.
Modules
There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Notifier FRM-1A addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Notifier ISO-XA isolator modules on all SLCs.
EOLs
There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
