Maxwell Bates Block is a mixed-use commercial building located at 2207 4 Street SW, Calgary, Alberta. The complex was built in 2013, and the top floor was renovated in 2023. The fire alarm system is original, with new devices in the renovated area.

FACP
The building is protected by a Notifier NFS-320C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” P2RA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
The third floor has System Sensor “L-Series” SRLA remote strobes (red, wall-mount, bilingual lettering, set to 15cd).
For exterior notification, there is a System Sensor SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 75cd).

Pull Stations
Most pull stations are Notifier N-MPS-SC conventional single-action pull stations, wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules.
There are some Notifier N-MPS-SA addressable single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements.
Automatic Detection Devices
Most smoke detectors are Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors, found in the elevator lobbies, stairwells, closets, third floor, and server rooms.
The electrical rooms, bathroom area of Phil + Sebastian, and parkade storage room have Notifier FST-851RA addressable 135°F fixed/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All above detectors are mounted on System Sensor B210LPA bases.
The third floor has Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors, mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.
There are two System Sensor DNRA duct smoke detector housings on the rooftop unit for supply and return. The supply has a Notifier FSP-851A addressable photoelectric head, and the return has a Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric head as a deficiency replacement.
Modules
There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Notifier FRM-1A addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
There are Notifier ISO-XA isolator modules on the SLC.
