McKinnon Court is a set of apartment buildings operated by Boardwalk. This page will cover building 2, located at 1175 McKinnon Dr NE, Calgary, Alberta. The building was completed in 1981, and the fire alarm system is partially original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.

FACP

The building is protected by an Edwards 2280 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards "Durabel" 6100D vibrating bells (6" gong).
There are numerous Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells (6" gong) as deficiency replacements.
The 2nd floor south hall has a Mircom BL-6 motor bell (6" gong) as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations.
Some areas have Fire-Lite FM-950B conventional single-action pull stations.
These replaced Edwards 274-101 conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building.
The boiler and laundry rooms have Edwards 245A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors.
There is an FDD CR-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector in the storage room.
The back of the basement hall has a System Sensor 5604A conventional 194°F fixed-temperature heat detector.

EOLs

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits but one.
There is a Fire-Lite EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plate on the south stairwell circuit.
