Marmot Basin is an alpine ski resort located in Jasper National Park, AB. It is located 20 minutes away from Jasper. The resort has 91 ski runs, 6 chairlifts, and three daylodges. This page will cover the Paradise Chalet, which is located mid-mountain in the same building with Eagle Chalet. This daylodge was built in 1991, and the fire alarm system is original.

The two lodge's fire alarm systems are NOT connected.

System Specifications (1991-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Notifier System 5000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is continuous.

Notification Appliances

All notification appliances but two are Notifier KMS-10-24VDC/P motor bells (10" gong).

There is a Notifier KMS-6-24VDC/P motor bell (6" gong) in the basement.

There is a Mircom "Select-A-Horn/Strobe" FHS-240R horn/strobe (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) in Jim's Den.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Notifier FM-950B conventional single-action pull stations (black label).

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors at the top of each stairwell.

There are FDD CF-200 conventional 200°F fixed-temperature heat detectors in the kitchen.

There is an FDD CF-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector in the pump room.

There is a System Sensor D2A conventional photoelectric duct smoke detector on the main furnace unit.

EOLs

There are Notifier EOL-CR end of line resistor plates on all circuits.
