Plainsmen Arena is an ice hockey arena located at 360 Centre Avenue East, in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada. The facility is owned and operated by The City of Airdrie. The arena was built in 1974, and was the first indoor arena in Airdrie. The fire alarm system was fully upgraded in 2012.

FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Simplex 4008 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All indoor notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a Simplex 4906-9131 weatherproof horn/strobe (red, wall-mount) outside the main entrance.
Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]
Pull Stations[edit | edit source]
All pull stations but one are Simplex 4099-9001 addressable single-action pull stations.
There is a Simplex 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull station at the southeast arena exit, installed as a deficiency replacement in July 2024.
Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9733 addressable 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors throughout most areas.
There are Simplex 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in the dressing room hallway and at the top of each stairwell.
All detectors are mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.

There are Simplex 4090-9116 addressable isolator modules on the SLC.
EOLs[edit | edit source]
There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all signal circuits.
