Riverview Towers is an apartment building located at 10045 117 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta. The building was built in 1969, and the fire alarm system is mostly original, with parts replaced as deficiencies occur.

System Specifications (1969-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a 120V hardwired fire alarm system. There are multiple different initiating circuits corresponding to each zone, wired in series. The bells are wired in parallel, which are wired to a relay to sound when any device is activated. The system coding is continuous.

Annunciators

There is an Edwards 456 annunciator in the lobby.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Edwards "Durabel" 6000D vibrating bells (6" gong), also installed in each suite.
There are Edwards 438D-6N5C vibrating bells (6" gong) as deficiency replacements.
There is a System Sensor SSV120-6A vibrating bell (6" gong) in the lobby as a deficiency replacement.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are Edwards CCS-642 conventional single-action pull stations.
There are Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are American Sensors ESA5011 ionization smoke alarms throughout the building, wired to BRK relays.
There is a System Sensor 5601A conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detector in the weight room.
