Safeway Canada is a chain of grocery stores owned by Empire. This particular store is located at 70 Shawville Blvd SE, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The store was built in 1990, and was expanded in 1996. The fire alarm system was upgraded in 2017.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4007ES conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced an Edwards 6616.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
All notification appliances are Simplex "TrueAlert" 4906-9127 horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
These replaced Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong).

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
Bonus Information[edit | edit source]
One of the original fire bells (Edwards 439D-10AWC) was wired to a doorbell button as well as the EST 6616, and when the doorbell button was pressed, the bell would ring softly to indicate a delivery. It was probably on 12VDC. It is unknown if the horn/strobe there goes off for deliveries, but it is in the same place as the bell that was there, as all the bells were replaced in 2017.
