Skygate Tower is an apartment tower located at 1030 16 Ave SW, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The tower is owned and operated by Boardwalk Residential. The building was built in 1981, and the fire alarm system is mostly original.

System Specifications

FACP

The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 hybrid-addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Mircom's CLIP addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced a Mirtone 7900 in 2009, and is mounted inside the Mirtone cabinet.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Mirtone 74306 vibrating bells (10" gong).
Some areas have Mircom BL-10B and BL-10A motor bells (10" gong) as deficiency replacements.
There is an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell (10" gong) in one area as a deficiency replacement.
There is a Wheelock MB-G10-24 motor bell (10" gong) as a deficiency replacement.
There is a System Sensor "L-Series" SRLA remote strobe (red, wall-mount, bilingual lettering, set to 15cd) in the fitness centre washroom.

Most pull stations are Mircom MS-401 conventional single-action pull stations, installed as deficiency replacements.
Some areas have Mirtone 73201 conventional dual-action pull stations, original to the building.
Some areas have Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements.
Some areas have Tyco/Grinnell MS-401GR conventional single-action pull stations as deficiency replacements.
There is a Fire-Lite FM950-B conventional single-action pull station at the parkade west exit as a deficiency replacement.
There is a Fire-Lite MPS-950BF conventional single-action pull station at the parkade garage door exit as a deficiency replacement.
There is a Mircom MS-401AD addressable single-action pull station in the elevator machine room.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors throughout all corridors and at the top of each stairwell.
