The Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel is a 4-star hotel located at 171 W Randolph St, Chicago, Illinois. It is owned by Sonesta Hotels International. The hotel was built in 1926 as the Bismarck Hotel, and was extensively renovated in 1998 becoming The Allegro. It was also renovated in 2015. The fire alarm system is mostly from the 1998 renovation, with a panel replacement and new devices in 2015.

FACP[edit | edit source]
The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panels are located after the main entrance, and are retrofitted into Simplex 4100+ cabinets; the 4100ES replaced that in 2015. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice-evacuation. The tones and/or messages are unknown at this time.

There is a Simplex 4603-9101 LCD annunciator at the 2nd floor check-in desk.
Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]
Most notification appliances are Wheelock ET-1080-LSM-24-VFR speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, vandal-resistant, 15cd).
There are Wheelock E70-24MCW speaker/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) in renovated areas.
Wheelock RSS-24MCW remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd) can be found in the renovated area for more visual coverage.
The guest rooms, weight rooms and areas requiring more audible coverage have Wheelock ET-1080-R speakers (red, wall-mount, vandal-resistant).
There are also Wheelock ET-1010-R speakers in some areas (red, wall-mount).

There are Simplex 4098-9733 addressable rate-of-rise/fixed heat detectors in some areas, mounted on unknown bases.

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
