The Level at Seton, also simply known as The Level, is an apartment complex located at 19671 40 St SE, Calgary, Alberta. The building was built in 2020 and the fire alarm system is original.

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The system is a network consisting of 2 nodes; there is a panel in each entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable initiating and IDNAC addressable signaling protocols, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert ES” 49AV-WRF addressable horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, candela varies).

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Simplex 4099-9004 addressable single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9714 addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout all common areas, mounted on Simplex 4098-9792 bases.
There are Simplex 4098-9755 addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors on the make up air units of each building.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 4090-9001 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Simplex 4090-9002 addressable relays serving various purposes.
There are Simplex 4090-9116 isolator modules on each SLC.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end of line resistor plates on all sprinkler circuits.

Sequence of Operation[edit | edit source]

When either Building A or B go into alarm, both panels will display an alarm condition, but the alarm will only be sounding in the respective building. If a parkade device is activated, a complex-wide evacuation is initiated, and all signaling devices sound.
