The Rec Room is a Canadian chain of entertainment restaurants owned by Cineplex Entertainment. The chain has 10 locations across Canada, and was founded in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 2016. This particular restaurant is located in West Edmonton Mall, at 2065 - 8882 170 Street Northwest, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The restaurant opened in 2016, and the fire alarm system is original.

The building is protected by a Simplex 4100ES addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance vestibule. The system runs Simplex’s IDNet addressable protocol, and is configured for two-stage operation. The system is equipped with voice evacuation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time. This panel is networked to the West Edmonton Mall panels.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Simplex “TrueAlert” 4906-9153 speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, set to 15cd).

Areas with low ceilings have Simplex 4906-9157 speaker/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).

There are Simplex 4902-9721CA remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount) throughout the building for additional audible coverage. These are mounted on the walls. This is code compliant as the device has no strobe.
