Toys ‘R’ Us is a chain of children’s retail stores specializing in toys and other entertainment for children. In Canada, it is owned by Putman Investments. This particular store is located at 10450 Macleod Trail SE, in the Willow Park neighborhood of Southeast Calgary, and was built in 1988. Besides the panel, the system is original.

System Specifications[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Mircom FX-2000 conventional fire alarm system. This panel is addressable by default, but this unit has two Mircom DM-1008A eight-zone modules in it, thus making it conventional. This panel was installed in about 2007, and replaced the original Edwards Custom 6500. The panel has not been seen, but is confirmed to be an FX-2000 based on the annunciator. The coding is unknown, but is likely temporal.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Mircom BB-1002 annunciator enclosure at the main entrance. It contains two annunciator modules. One is a Mircom RAX-LCD LCD annunciator, and the other is a Mircom RAX-1048TZDS 48-LED annunciator.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10” gong). These are original to the store.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are none in the storefront, as the building is protected by a sprinkler system with waterflow detection.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
