Whitehall Square is an apartment complex owned and managed by Boardwalk. This page will cover Tower C, which is located at 15424 84 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB. It was built in 1972, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2005 and 2016.
System Specifications (2005-present)
FACP
The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-640C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the CACF/sprinkler room. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.
This panel replaced a Notifier AFP-400 in 2016.
Annunciators
There is a Notifier LCD-80TM annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.
Booster Panels
There is a Notifier FCPS-24C 6-amp booster power supply next to the main panel.
Notification Appliances
Most notification appliances are Wheelock NS-24MCW-FR horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
The main floor has a System Sensor “L-Series” P2RLA-E horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd), installed in 2018.
Some suites have Wheelock MIZ-24S-R mini horns (red).
The new suites on the main floor have System Sensor MHWZA silenceable mini-horns (white).
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations are Notifier MPS-950B conventional single-action pull stations, wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.
Some areas, such as the electrical room and stairwells have Notifier FSI-851A addressable ionization smoke detectors.
Some areas have Notifier FST-851A addressable 135°F fixed-temperature heat detectors.
All 851-series detectors are mounted on System Sensor B710LPA bases.
The CACF room has a Mircom TD-135 conventional 135°F fixed-temperature heat detector, wired to a Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor module.
Modules
There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Notifier FRM-1A addressable relay modules serving various purposes.
EOLs
There are Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler circuits, the conventional heat detector circuit and most signal circuits.
There is a Notifier EOL-CW end-of-line resistor plate on the new suites’ signal circuit.
