The daylodge is protected by a Notifier System 5000 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the main entrance, and has a capacity for 24 zones, 12 zones are in use. It was installed during construction, and has no problems despite its age. The System 5000 is somewhat overkill, as a System 500 with the capacity of 12 or 16 zones could have been installed at the time. The lock on the cabinet has been busted, and is held shut with copper wire. The system is serviced by Helmig Fire Equipment Inc, and the system coding is continuous.
