IKEA is a large multinational chain of stores primarily selling ready-to-assemble furniture. This particular store is located at 1311 102 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta; it is located in South Edmonton Common. It was built in 2003 to replace the old location. The fire alarm system is original.
System Specifications (2003-present)
FACP
The building is protected by an Edwards EST3 addressable fire alarm system. The panel location is unknown. The system runs EST’s Signature addressable protocol, and is equipped with voice-evacuation. The system is also configured for two-stage operation. The alert signal is believed to be a 20BPM tone, followed by the alarm signal, a temporal tone. Both signals have custom messages.
Annunciators
There is an EST 3-6ANN annunciator in the main entrance vestibule, equipped with a 3-REMICA microphone.
Notification Appliances
All notification appliances are EST “Genesis” G4F-S7VM speaker/strobes (white, wall-mount, FIRE lettering, 70V). These are all set to 1 watt and 15cd.
Initiating Devices
Pull Stations
All pull stations are EST SIGA-270P addressable two-stage pull stations.
Automatic Detection Devices
There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors located throughout, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.
The air handling units have EST SIGA-DH duct detector housings with SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric heads.
Modules
There are EST SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are also EST SIGA-CR relays serving various purposes.
EOLs
There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistors on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
