Trico Centre for Family Wellness (or simply Trico Centre, also called Family Leisure Centre), is a recreation complex located at 11150 Bonaventure Drive SE, in the Southeast Calgary community of Willow Park. It was built in 1982, but the fire alarm system is not original, most of it is from the 2009 expansion.

System Specifications[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The facility is protected by a Kidde VS4 addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located on the ramp to the second floor, and installed in 2019 as the replacement panel for an EST QuickStart QS4, likely due to a CPU fault. The system runs Kidde's GSA addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal. The GSA protocol is compatible with Signature-series devices.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Kidde K-RLCD-C annunciator and a K-RLED24 LED annunciator near the main entrance.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

The notification appliances are Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells (10" gong) on EST 403-5A-R (15cd) strobe plates. The men's locker room has a Mircom BL-10B motor bell (10" gong) on a Mircom strobe plate (model number to be confirmed), replacing an Edwards bell/strobe combo that failed.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

The main pull stations are a mix of EST SIGA-270 addressable pull stations, and Edwards 270-SPO pull stations, from each era from and newer than the 1980s generation, originally as deficiency replacements for the original pull stations.

The 270-SPO pull stations most likely have SIGA-CT1 addressable monitor modules behind them.

The original pull stations were likely Edwards 274-111 pull stations, as the pool had these prior to the renovation.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are EST SIGA-PS addressable photoelectric smoke detectors throughout the building, mounted on SIGA-SB bases.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Edwards EOL-P1 end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.

Bonus Information[edit | edit source]

For the wave pool warning system, there is a Wheelock MT-12/24-W (white) multi-tone horn set on slow whoop for when the waves are about to start.
