Banff Gondola (main building)

Banff Gondola is a tourist attraction in Banff, AB. It is a gondola ride on Sulphur Mountain with an amazing view. The main building is from 1997-98, but has had the current system since 2016, though all initiating devices amd most notification appliances are original. This page covers the main building. System Specifications

FACP

The fire alarm panel is a custom Notifier NFS2-3030C installed in 2016, after the newer upper terminal was built. It replaced an EST 6616 from 1997-98. Despite the fire alarm system being addressable, the system is not set up in an addressable manner. The panel is located in the Starbucks coffee, on the left side of the fireplace.

Notification Appliances

There are two Edwards 439D-6AWC vibrating bells on EST 403-5A-R "Integrity" strobe plates, one in the main lobby and one in the store on a pillar. There is an Edwards MB6-24 motor bell by an exit, likely replacing a 439D-6AWC. There is an EST 202-5A-T "Integrity" remote strobe on the other side of the pillar with the 439D-6AWC and Integrity strobe plate. The gondola boarding area has an Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bell with an EST 202-5A-T remote strobe right next to it.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

All of the pull stations are original from 1997-98. They are Edwards 270-SPO left over from the 6616.

Automatic Detection Devices

The smoke detectors are Edwards EDW1451A ionization smoke detectors, and the heat detectors are Edwards 280B-PL mechanical heat detectors. All smoke and heat detectors are original.
