Waterton International Hostel is a hostel on Cameron Falls Drive, Waterton, AB. It consists of the main building, which also houses a recreation centre, as well as nine guest houses, all built in 1999. This page will cover the main building; the fire alarm system is mostly original.

System Specifications (1999-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Simplex 4007ES conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located at the front entrance. The system coding is continuous.
This panel replaced a Notifier System 500 in the late 2010s. There is also a Notifier System 2500, however it is unknown what this panel supervises.

Notification Appliances

All common area notification appliances are Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bells (6” gong) mounted on Wheelock RSSP-2415W strobe plates (red, 15cd).
Each living unit has a System Sensor “SpectrAlert” S2415A remote strobe (red, wall-mount, 15cd).
For exterior notification, there is a Wheelock MB-G6-24 motor bell (6” gong) outside the entrance.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

Most pull stations are Notifier NFM-950B conventional single-action pull stations.
There are some Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are System Sensor 1400A conventional ionization smoke detectors in most areas.
Some areas have System Sensor “i3” C2W-BA conventional photoelectric smoke detectors.
There are Simplex “TrueAlarm” 4098-9601 conventional photoelectric smoke detectors mounted to Simplex 4098-9788 bases as deficiency replacements.
All kitchens have Edwards 281C conventional 135°F fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.

EOLs

There are Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
