Uplands Manor

From FireAlarmPedia

Uplands Manor is an Apartment Building in Bankview. The system is another interesting apartment building system utilizing a single 120v circuit with AC bells simply wired in series-parallel with the initiating devices. With no panel in between. (See 7044 Ogden Road SE) The building was constructed in 1969 and the system is mostly original.

System Specifications

FACP

This system does not use a panel and the initiating devices are the control point.

Notification Appliances

The notification appliances are quite rare. They are Edwards 1047 6" AC vibrating bells. One on each floor, for a total of five. They are likely original to the building.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations consist of Edwards 270-SPO (1960s era, Square E Shield) single action pull stations. Some of which have their original glass rod. They are likely original to the building. There are two on each floor at either stairwell.

Automatic Detection Devices

There are a total of twenty American Sensors ESA5011 120v Hardwired Ionization Smoke Alarms installed in the building. Two on each floor attached to each pull station (10), and one for each floor in the two stairwells. (10) It is possible that there is one more in the elevator mechanical room.
