Safeway (Shawnessy)

From FireAlarmPedia
Revision as of 21:28, 29 July 2020 by Twentytwo22 (talk | contribs)

Safeway is a chain of grocery stores in North America. This particular location was built in 1996. The current system is from 2017, but the pull stations are original.

System Specifications

Panel

The current panel is a Simplex 4007ES installed in 2017, and it is set up in a non-addressable manner. The panel is located in the main entrance.

Notification Appliances

The alarms are Simplex TrueAlert 4906-9127 (red, wall) horn/strobes. These were installed in 2018, replacing the original bells. It is unknown if the horn/strobe replacing the bell that rang for a delivery goes off for one.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are still original from 1996. They are Edwards 270-SPO.

Automatic Detection Devices

None noticed.

Previous System Specifications

Panel

The original panel was an EST 6616 from 1996. It was replaced in 2017 with the current Simplex 4007ES.

Notification Appliances

The original alarms were Edwards 439D-10AWC vibrating bells, again from 1996. Fun fact: One of the bells was wired to a doorbell as well as the panel, and would ring softly to indicate a delivery. Possibly it was on 12V. It is unknown if the current signal there goes off for deliveries.

Initiating Devices

Pull Stations

The pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO, and have not been replaced despite the system upgrade.
