BOW45 is a 3-story medical building located at 4620 Bow Trail SW, Calgary, Alberta. The building was built in 2021, and the fire alarm system is original.

System Specifications (2021-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-640C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located at the south entrance. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and the system coding is temporal.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All indoor notification appliances are from System Sensor’s “L-Series” line of products.
Most areas have System Sensor P2RLA horn/strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
Areas requiring additional visual coverage have System Sensor SRLA remote strobes (red, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
One retail unit has System Sensor PC2WLA horn/strobes (white, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).
One floor has System Sensor PC2RLA horn/strobes (red, ceiling-mount, set to 15cd).
One washroom has a System Sensor SWLA remote strobe (white, wall-mount, set to 15cd).
For outdoor notification, there is a System Sensor “SpectrAlert Advance” P2RKA weatherproof horn/strobe (red, wall-mount) on the third floor patio, and a System Sensor SRKA weatherproof remote strobe (red, wall-mount) outside the south entrance.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Notifier NBG-12LX addressable dual-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detectors in each elevator lobby, stairwell and throughout unit 220.
The kitchen and laundry room of 220 have Notifier FST-951RA addressable thermal fixed-temperature/rate-of-rise heat detectors.
All detectors are mounted on System Sensor B300A-6 bases.
There is a System Sensor DNRA duct smoke detector housing on the third floor air handling unit, fitted with a Notifier FSP-951A addressable photoelectric smoke detector head. It is wired to a System Sensor RA100ZA indicator.

Modules[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier FMM-1A addressable monitor modules supervising the sprinkler system’s tamper and flow switches.
There are Notifier FRM-1A addressable relay modules for AHU shutdown and elevator recall.
There are Notifier ISO-XA isolator modules on each SLC.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Notifier EOL-CR end-of-line resistor plates on all sprinkler and signal circuits.
