First Alberta Place is a large office tower located at 777 8 Avenue Southwest, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The building opened in 1981, and the fire alarm system was upgraded in 2015. The system is serviced by Vipond.

System Specifications (2015-present)

FACP

The building is protected by a Notifier NFS2-3030C addressable fire alarm system. The panel is located in the CACF room, adjacent to the security desk on the first floor. The system runs Notifier’s FlashScan addressable protocol, and is equipped with Notifier’s Digital Voice Command (DVC) voice evacuation system. The system is configured for two-stage operation, however the messages and/or tones are unknown at this time.

Notification Appliances

Most notification appliances are Soundolier UHT70C-U51-8 remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount, 8” round). Areas with low ceilings have Edwards 964-1A-4RW remote speakers (white, ceiling-mount, 4” round). The Edwards speakers are also wall-mounted in some areas.

Pull Stations

All pull stations are Notifier MPS-950KB conventional single-action pull stations. All stations are wired to Notifier FMM-101A addressable monitor modules. There are two modules per station, located directly behind each station.
