Safeway Canada is a chain of grocery stores. They are owned by Sobeys, and have locations across the country. This particular store is located at 6112 50 St, Leduc, Alberta, Canada. The store opened in 1991, and most of the system is original. The store was renovated, but the system remains.

This store is part of a plaza that was added on in 2005, however this system is not networked to the one in the plaza.

System Specifications (1991-present)[edit | edit source]

FACP[edit | edit source]

The building is protected by a Simplex 4006 conventional fire alarm system. The panel is located in the compressor room. The system coding is likely temporal.

The 4006 was installed around 2016, replacing an Edwards 6616 due to a main board failure.

Annunciators[edit | edit source]

There is a Simplex 4610-9111 annunciator in the main entrance vestibule.

Notification Appliances[edit | edit source]

All audible notification appliances are Edwards 882-2B remote horns (red, wall-mount). These are mounted on the ceiling.

There is an Edwards 202-5A-T remote strobe (red, wall-mount, 15cd) in the meat area, installed for more coverage.

Initiating Devices[edit | edit source]

Pull Stations[edit | edit source]

All pull stations are Edwards 270-SPO conventional single-action pull stations.

Automatic Detection Devices[edit | edit source]

None noticed. There is a sprinkler system.

EOLs[edit | edit source]

There are Simplex 2081-9040C end-of-line resistor plates on all circuits.
